I found it a bit confusing, with the whole Gog of Magog. And I agree on the bunker videos, they definitely work

Last nights CLAM meeting
by dbq407 inso hadn't been to a clam meeting in quite a few months, but went last night.
so we learned that gog of magog is not satan as previously believed.
they used a few scriptures that made it clear that it couldn't be satan and that it would be a coalition of nations.

@LickingMyWounds
I am so sorry for your loss and that you are going through all of this, very cruel what your mom has said. My mother has also insulted me as well in the same way. It's very said that we have to endure these kind of things, especially from someone who gave birth to us; it's such a pity. You are a very strong person, and I wish you nothing but more strength to bare through this my friend. We support you ❤️

"Only Witnesses demonstrate Christian Love"
by Jules Saturn inso a couple of nights ago i was speaking with a relative and we began talking about the organization.
i had to asked her "why do you believe that this religion is the correct one?
" they stood quiet for a second but then said that they view and feel genuine christian love, a type of love that is spoken about in the bible.

I believe there are other religions who also refuse to go to war like the Adventists, the Quakers, the Brethern, to name a few, aren't they showing "true Christian love" as well?

So a couple of nights ago I was speaking with a relative and we began talking about the organization. I had to asked her "Why do you believe that this religion is the correct one?" They stood quiet for a second but then said that they view and feel genuine Christian love, a type of love that is spoken about in the Bible. A type of love that is worldwide. She argued that she had been a Catholic while growing up and that that genuine Christian love was never felt. I wanted to reason with her that she had spent more time being a Witness than a Catholic but I decided to let her speak.
And then she said "There is no other organization that is like this." And that's where I tried reasoning with her by saying "You haven't been in other organizations before, only two, the Catholics and the Witnesses, to say that the Witnesses are the ONLY organization to demonstrate this act of love is a bold claim." And they argued saying that they weren't going to join every other organization to see whether they have that "love" quality or not.
I definitely thought her response was very interesting and I do wonder if many other Witnesses reason this way. I definitely can't argue doctrine with her because she honestly doesn't seem to care whether it's correct or not and if I attempt to explain something she doesn't want to listen.
You ever experienced this talking to a Witness before? How do you respond when they mention the whole "Only this organization shows true Christian love"?

in retrospect: RBCs vs LDCs / the hype about a lot of new construction and subsequent abrupt halt to construction
by Magnum inso, now that some time has passed, i’d like some input/thoughts/analysis/etc.
on the jw construction situation in the last few years.. first, why did they discontinue the rbc arrangement and institute the ldc arrangement?
was it for more and/or better control?
-
Jules Saturn
When RBC was still around I knew people who would count whatever time they spent at RBC on their preaching time sheet and if I'm not mistaken, I don't think you were allowed to do that. So if anything that could be one of the many reasons the RBC arrangement was discontinued. I'm not so sure if there are people who do that with the LDC arrangement

What would happen to a JW who respectfully refused to fill out a no blood DPA?
by Island Man ini know you'll be involuntarily disassociated if you unrepentantly accepted a blood transfusion; and i know you'll be disfellowshipped for apostasy if you openly disagreed with watchtower teaching.
what if you have done none of the above but simply respectfully refused to fill out the dpa without giving any reason for your refusal - so they can't accuse you of openly disagreeing with the no-blood doctrine and df you for apostasy.
they don't know why you're refusing and you're not giving them the reason - and you're being very respectful.. what can they do?.

I actually haven't filled it out since my baptism and I currently haven't been reprimanded for it

When was the book of Lamentations written?
by Jules Saturn inso i was researching about 587 and 607 and couldn't help but notice that the wbts states that the writing of the book of lamentations was written by jeremiah near jerusalem and was completed in 607 bc.
chapters 2 and 4 of this book describe jehovah's anger towards jerusalem and the terrible effects of jerusalem's siege taking place in chapter 4. can someone clear this up?
was this book written in 607?

@smiddy
No I just noticed that it says this in the back of the New World Translation, particularly the 2013 revision, in the back where it says where every book was written, when and by who

Interesting reaction regarding Jerusalem's destruction
by Jules Saturn inso i saw this article on yahoo news this past friday .
https://au.news.yahoo.com/a/36618776/archaeological-find-in-jerusalem-proves-bible-passage-true/#page1.
if you watch the video, it's a short 32 second video, the man says how they've found evidence that confirms that jerusalem was destroyed in 586 bc, and it goes along with what is written in the bible.. excerpt from article:.
